12 August 2024Mbabane: With the urgent call from Their Majesties for the Government, delegates and businesses to work to depreciate the rise of poverty in Eswatini, Eswatini TV responded by making a donation to the community of Mangwaneni on Friday 27 July.
Eswatini TV donated blankets, food parcels, clothes and loaves of bread to underprivileged residents at Mangwaneni. This act was inspired by the station having received blankets provided by Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati LaNkambule, for make such initiatives.
The TV station acted upon the Royal Family’s vision to alleviate poverty in the kingdom, and planned to conduct a CSR project in the following month (July). ESTVA identified the neighbouring community of Mangwaneni as the first community to engage. “Charity begins at home,” said ESTVA CEO Mlamuli Dlamini, when unpacking the drive behind the CSR project in Mangwaneni. He highlighted that it was difficult to ignore the alarming living conditions of the Mangwaneni residents, henceforth heartening the institution to support the community with the donation.
The TV station was supported in this initiative by Easy Buy supermarket, Prime Bakery and Century Fashions who contributed food parcels for the community members. ESTVA Senior Marketing and Communications Officer Nomcebo Malinga expressed gratitude for the generous support of the aforementioned brands, and how the institution is looking forward to more partnerships in the future.
