24 June 2026Eswatini TV Takes Local Storytelling International Through SABC Partnership
Eswatini’s creative industry has reached an important milestone as Eswatini TV expands the reach of local storytelling through the distribution of one of its locally produced Ekhaya drama series to South African audiences via SABC channel.
For years, Eswatini TV has continued to develop local content that reflects the country’s culture, language, values, and everyday experiences. By introducing local drama to a broader audience, the channel is creating opportunities for local actors, writers, producers, directors, camera operators, and technical teams to gain wider exposure. As audiences continue to seek authentic African stories, initiatives such as this demonstrate that content created in Eswatini has the potential to compete and connect across regional markets.
The senior Communications officer, Nomcebo Malinga said the move represents more than a television transaction but rather signals growing recognition of Eswatini’s production.” This development aligns with efforts to strengthen local content production and position Eswatini as a contributor to the Southern African creative economy. This milestone reflects the growing influence of local broadcasters in shaping African narratives and opening doors for future collaborations in television and entertainment across the continent” she said.
The drama series showcases locally developed storytelling and highlights themes that resonate beyond national borders while maintaining authentic Eswatini identity and culture. Viewers are encouraged to tune in on Eswatini TV channel, available on DSTV 286, to catch every moment of this entertaining drama series. With the first episode having aired on the 21st of June 2026 at 19:30, viewers can expect memorable moments, plot twists and intense drama on the coming episodes.
