Eswatini TV conducted ‘No TV Permit, No Import’ Regional Workshops
Eswatini TV conducted a nationwide workshop programme aimed at educating television retailers and resellers on the process and requirements for importing television sets into Eswatini. The initiative seeks to improve compliance, strengthen awareness of regulatory requirements, and ensure that all television importers understand the application procedures before bringing television sets into Eswatini.
According to the programme guidelines, all retailers and resellers intending to import television sets will be required to submit an import permit application through Eswatini TV at least 48 hours before the television sets enter the country. As part of the application process, applicants will also be required to pay an application fee of E180, which must be completed before the permit can be reviewed and approved.
The workshops were conducted across different regions to ensure accessibility and direct engagement with businesses operating within the television retail and distribution sector. During the sessions, participants received guidance on: the purpose of the television import permit process, Required supporting documentation, Payment requirements and application compliance, and Common application errors and how to avoid delays.
Eswatini TV indicated that the workshops are intended to support retailers and resellers by creating a clear understanding of the process and encouraging early preparation before importation. Businesses attending the workshops had an opportunity to ask questions and receive practical demonstrations on completing application forms and meeting submission timelines. The outreach programme forms part of Eswatini TV’s broader efforts to improve stakeholder engagement and create greater awareness of administrative requirements affecting the television distribution sector.
